I felt the trip to Jurong island was a eye opener for me. It was quite educational too.I quite enjoy the bus tour around the whole island, the introduction by the giude was quite useful . I feel that i did not have enough time to examine all the exhibits at the chem gallery. Time was a bit rush as we have to do the quiz, but the Chem gallery is full fun and exciting info. The perodic table was the first thing that caught my attention when i first step into it.of The security at Jurong island was very tight, no photograpy was allow to keep a photo as memory. Jurong island is somewhat similiar to the mainland, with bus-stop, fire station and everything.

The trip to jurong island was a fun and useful trip.I hardly know there is such an island which is make up of seven islands. The security there is very strict, bags must be check before going in and a pass is needed. It is also a highly industrialised place with many company investing there. The tour around made me understand what jurong island is like. The chem gallary there is not only fun but full of educational purpose.I learn a lot in the chem gallary, how jurong island was mantain. There are also games in the gallary to let us learn from 'play'.I also learn the history of jurong island through the guide and the gallary.During my time there, i also about the distributions of oil throughout the world .Overall this is a enrichimg trip as i learn many new things.

Jurong Island is a heavy industrialized place, whcih i hardly dont't even know since it is my first time going there. it is really an enjoyable trip there to learn more about the type of industries and also to know what chemicals or stuff they produce there. Jurong Isaland thrived as most local and foreign industries are located there, it is so important to Singapore that security there is so strict, no taking of photos is allowed there. i was surprised. The place earned much of the income for Singapore, a total of 6 billions dollars a year, therefore Jurong Island is expanding to accomodate more foreign companies and factories to invest in Singapore. Singapore lack of natural resources, so man power is the vital source in Singapore, Singapore has always wanted foreign talents to help our country in developments and also industrializations, therefore for Singapore in the long run, i think that it is necessary.

The trip to jurong island was enjoyable and fruitful. We also picked up lots of information which we would be able to use in our life as chemistry students, such as the processing of certain chemicals and substances. The worksheets provided forced us to remember details as to what people did on jurong island. Jurong island is a highly secured place and it is indeed nice to go in to have a look, to see what is beyond all that security. All in all, this trip was an educational one although the time limit was too short to even absorb the information into detail. I suggest that future trips should be longer. - Shannon Lee (30)

The trip to Jurong Island was interesting and useful. It was useful in the sense that we could learn things about the way the chemical industries in Singapore works. I learnt that they used pipes to transport the products to other factories so as to save cost on transportation and other interesting stuffs about Jurong Island. The worksheet given to be completed was a good thing for us to learn and remember the things we saw and learnt from the Jurong Island trip and the Chem Gallery exhibition. Conlcluding, the trip was educational and enriching.

hey.

When the teacher said that we're going to Jurong Island, I thought that the trip would be boring and a waste of time, and that since it's going to be boring, we wouldn't remember much about it, so it wouldn't help us much when we're learning organic science in sec four. I thought we were going to some factory and to just look at how things are done there, that are related to chemistry of course.

ChemGallery wasn't boring at all, it was interesting. But I still think that if we were to visit factories, it would be boring.

Learnt many new things from the trip, and the place was really nice and cooling. =x
The quiz made us look and read the texts on the exhibits and I probably wouldn't really read them if not for the quiz.

Enjoyed my trip to the ChemGallery. It wasn't a waste of time at all, and I've learnt to appreciate Jurong Island more.

lalala. yay. finally found the time to blog my reflections.

ok. let's see. The chem gallery was interesting. jurong island was just a land full of factories to me in the past. but after the visit, i change my point of view. i once thought that they were just factories contributing to global warming. I WAS WRONG. lol. to be frank, i actually did not learn many things from the visit and the chem gallery. i guess it would be due to my poor memory; unable to remember much facts.

I believe that the chem gallery has lots of things there for us to learn. I just didn't catch it. Too bad for me. Overall i thought that the trip was a enriching and at the same time FUN for most of us. haha.

END OF REFLECTIONS.
